Attorney Mark J. Sommaruga, who is a member of Pullman & Comley’s Labor, Employment Law and Employee Benefits Department and is chair of its School Law section, recently authored Understanding Connecticut’s Freedom of Information Act (5th Edition 2018). This 146 page book is written primarily to provide guidance to public agencies and their members (and also members of the public at large) by providing real life stories and case studies, along with practical advice for those trying to comply with the FOIA’s public records and open meetings requirements. Attorney Sommaruga has extensive experience advising clients with regard to FOIA issues, and regularly practices before the Freedom of Information Commission. Sommaruga also regularly presents on FOIA issues at a variety of conferences, workshops and seminars on FOIA issues.
